HEALTH ALLIANCE FOR AUSTIN MUSICIANS
September 08, 2010
Word on the Street

When I came to SIMS they were struggling, just as I was. In between directors, funding and providers were iffy and as I began to utilize their services and became stronger and more stable, so did they. When it came time to look into spreading out into healthcare and dental I was chosen to be a part of that panel of musicians and was one of 2 who actually used the clinic before it went public. I participated in the marketing panels and even was the first person on the dental bus! Looking back, I have become healthier and stronger and more successful throughout the last 3 years and I wouldn't have had any of that if it weren't for organizations like yours. Thank you! - Nakia, rock/soul singer-songwriter, Nakia & His Southern Cousins
